When I look through the viewfinder of my camera I see much more than just an image. I see a window of visions into the wonderful emotions, angles, light, shadows, colors, curves and lines that converge in a moment in time. An extraordinary moment. An ever changing canvas and the opportunity to capture those extraordinary moments that are only there for a split second and then would otherwise be forever lost. My camera is my tool that helps me to see things that others may not see. If you blink, you will miss it. Knowing what to look for and being ready to for the scene to unfold is what many years of photography experience has taught me and is simply what I love to do.
Howdy! That is the official greeting of Texas and yes, I am proud to call Texas my home. Plano, Texas to be exact, just north of Dallas. My name, in case it wasn’t obvious at this point, is Michael Ross. Welcome to my website and thank you for stopping by and your interest in finding out a little more about me, my work, and and my passion for photography. My interest in photography began at a very young age and over the years I have studied different aspects of the craft and the techniques used by different photographers. I have ventured deeply into many different types of photography in a way to challenge myself to ultimately learn more about the fascinating world of images. The more I learn about photography, the more I enjoyed it and that will always hold true.
I am artist and my camera is one of the tools I use in my work. I would almost venture to say that I am more comfortable with a camera in my hands than I am when I am without one. When I don’t have that camera in my hands I always feel like I am going to miss capturing an extraordinary moment! Photography has taught me to see things that might otherwise go unnoticed. It is not just about capturing an image in an eye pleasing way. It is more about capturing the feeling, emotion, and story that goes along with the image.
